This here is a picture of some of our own veterans from good old Naperville. This ceremony at city hall was the first of my visits in the morning series of events. The ceremony began with the flag raising and a prayer, and continued with the presentation of a wreath and a salute to those lost in battle. | |
| This is the 12 man firing squad led by my Uncle Mike Rechenmacher (far left), a war veteran of Vietnam. These 12 men traveled across town to each ceremony, firing three shots of salute at each location. (Blanks, of course.) I got to keep one of the shells. |
